At SanDisk, we believe that
corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an essential factor for
overall corporate success. This implies adopting ethical and
sustainable business practices to direct how we do business while
keeping the stakeholders and environment interests in focus.
This also means supporting worthy
organizations and causes that improve lives and make lasting
changes in our communities.
SanDisk Israel has once again
received the highest score -- a "Platinum" ranking -- from the
Maala Corporate Social Responsibility Index, and the result was
announced at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. SanDisk received this
recognition in 2010 and 2011.
Maala is a widely regarded
non-profit organization based in Israel that works with businesses
to develop and implement strategies for corporate social
responsibility and good corporate citizenship.
In Maala's annual evaluation of
publicly traded companies, private companies, government entities
and companies traded abroad, SanDisk received a leading score based
on its practices in five major categories: business ethics,
workplace, community investment, environment and corporate
governance.
We strive to uphold the
following principles:
- To maintain the human rights of employees and to treat
employees with dignity and respect.
- To set up processes and procedures intended to (i) comply with
applicable laws and regulations as well as SanDisk internal
guidelines, and (ii) uphold ethical standards.
- To establish policies and procedures intended to promote the
idea that the quality of SanDisk's products and services,
consistency of production, and employees well being are predicated
on a safe and healthy work environment.
- To establish policies and procedures intended to promote
environmental responsibility as an integral part of SanDisk's
culture to deliver world-class products and services.
