SanDisk Community Sharing Program
SanDisk is committed to supporting programs and organizations
that address the needs of communities where our company has a
significant presence. We strive to be exemplary corporate citizens
within the global community.
Our Community Sharing Committee acts as a facilitator to carry
out this vision by making donations to non-profit organizations and
community groups whose efforts align with SanDisk's core values --
innovation, focus on execution, adaptability and agility, teamwork
and integrity.
To maximize the results of our efforts, effective January 1,
2012, we will focus our program support on the following areas:
K-12 Education - In and/or out of school programs with
strong impact and special emphasis on:
- Enhancing academic performance, technology skills and/or social
development of students from underserved communities.
- Curriculum development, innovative instruction methods,
hands-on student projects and infrastructure improvements to
advance the quality of education.
- Providing teachers with professional development, materials and
support.
- Enhancing the teaching and education of students.
- Programs utilizing the arts to enhance the quality of education
provided.
Promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
(STEM), specifically through:
- Curriculum development, innovative instruction methods,
hands-on student projects and infrastructure improvements to
advance the quality of education.
- STEM programs targeting secondary, junior or community
colleges, public and private four-year colleges and universities,
graduate and professional schools, and technical and specialized
schools. This area also includes departmental grants and special
project or research grants.
Children's/Youth Issues (Health and Welfare)
addressed through programs that provide services to children in the
communities where we have a significant presence and that are
focused on:
- Meeting young people's maximum health potential through
improved access to quality health care and health promotion
(including public health, oral health, mental health, primary
health care, preventive medicine, community health, obstetrics and
nursing).
- Demonstrating innovative and effective service delivery and
community support for disadvantaged children and families.
- Directing services for children who are victims of abuse or
neglect.
- Addressing hunger and homeless assistance for children and
their families.
