SanDisk Scholars Fund

On January 6, 2012, the SanDisk Foundation created the SanDisk Scholars Fund, a $1 million scholarship program that supports the educational goals of selected students who wish to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. The SanDisk Scholars Fund will award scholarships of up to $10,000 per student to graduating high school seniors, community-college students, or students already enrolled in a STEM-related course of study who demonstrate a need for financial support in order to reach their academic goals.

The program builds on SanDisk's existing award-winning philanthropic activities, further demonstrating the company's commitment to using its resources to address important social needs. By adding this program to our portfolio of philanthropic activities, the SanDisk Foundation can make an even deeper impact on education and encourage members of traditionally underrepresented groups to pursue scientific and technical careers.

The SanDisk Foundation has partnered with Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF), International Scholarship and Tuition Services (ISTS), the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) to identify students fitting the SanDisk Scholars Fund's applicant profile, to process applications, to award scholarships and to provide support services to scholarship recipients. SanDisk worked with these partners to design a program that focuses on young people who are faced with limited opportunities to pursue their dream careers.
